Omnidrome integrates aerial, land-based, and submersible drones and sensors, including a bespoke Training and Testing Facility which is due to launch in summer 2023.
The Training and Testing Facility is a bespoke hangar which will allow operators to develop and test specialist remote-controlled and autonomous drones in a confined, safe space, in compliance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) guidelines and without disrupting residents, or those on campus.
The Omnidrome Research and Innovation Centre will act as a springboard for engagement with industry partners, local government, non-governmental organisations, and commercial partners and offers a unique opportunity to support the University’s students and staff in delivering world-leading research, innovation, education and knowledge exchange.
