Field Trip to Enterprise Mobility for MSc Human Resource Management

Postgraduate students on our MSc Human Resource Management degree were invited to visit the European Headquarters of Enterprise Mobility on the 23 May 2024.

The visit included a welcome talk by Paul Hanrahan, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development Manager. In his talk, he discussed Enterprise Mobility's approach to recruiting talent, graduate development, and the essential skills HR professionals seek in candidates – a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn more about where their careers could take them. He also covered topics such as career progression opportunities within the company, the importance of continuous learning and development, the impact of technology on the workforce, and strategies for building a successful career in a dynamic industry. Additionally, Paul provided insights into the company's culture, values, and the various support systems available to help employees thrive.

Following the introduction talk there was a campus tour led by Patrick McGrellis, Talent Development Manager. During the tour, Patrick provided an in-depth look at the organization's history and culture, highlighting key milestones and achievements. Students had the opportunity to visit various departments, interact and network with current employees, and gain a better understanding of the company's values and work environment. This immersive experience allowed students to appreciate the strong sense of community and innovation that drives the organization.

The visit ended with an HR panel discussion featuring Leigh Lafever-Ayer, Rob Taylor, and Paul Hanrahan, a team of HR directors. They discussed various topics including current trends in talent acquisition, the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, effective strategies for employee engagement and retention, and the future of work in a post-pandemic world. The panel also addressed the challenges and opportunities in HR management and shared their insights on how to build a successful career in human resources. Students were able to ask several questions, gaining valuable advice and a deeper understanding of the HR field.
