The Department of Electronic Engineering at Royal Holloway, University of London has seen a year on year improvement in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026 published in September.

We’re delighted to have risen 15 places to be in the Top 20 of UK Electronic Engineering departments, ranked at 18th place out of 66 engineering departments nationally.
The quality of our Teaching is ranked first in the UK, up from 14th last year.
And we’re delighted to be ranked in first place in the Student Experience category, an increase of five places from last year.
It's an encouraging set of results for a relatively young department.
Ours is a welcoming community where students feel both at home and inspired by great teaching, original research and first class facilities.
The Good University Guide evaluates universities across a range of indicators.
