The Department of History at Royal Holloway has once again been recognised as one of the best places to study the subject in the country.

We have just been ranked 14th in the Guardian University Guide for History, improving on our already impressive 21st place last year. Around 90 institutions in the UK offer degrees in History, so to be ranked so highly is a powerful testament to the ongoing work of our staff and satisfaction of our students.

History at Royal Holloway scored particularly highly in the category 'Satisfied with Teaching' and we were also recognised for our low staff:student ratio (11th in the table).
