The Jalsa Salana is an Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a unique event bringing over 35,000 participants from more than 90 countries to increase religious knowledge and promote a sense of peace in society. Speakers discuss a range of religious topics and their relevance to contemporary society. A number of parliamentarians, civic leaders and diplomats from different countries also addressed the gathering to underline the Convention’s objective of enhancing unity, understanding and mutual respect. A special feature of this convention is that His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, addresses the Convention over each of the three days, providing insights into religious teachings and how they are a source of guidance for the world today.

This community’s motto is ‘Love for All, Hatred for None’. It is a persecuted religious minority in certain countries.

Professor Marshall discussed the protections and preventative strategies and messages presented by International Law and Human Rights. She argued that underlying forces of peace, dignity and respect for all in everyday personal life link those things within our control to the forces of law around us transnationally.
