Undergraduate tuition fees

Find out what fees apply to undergraduate degrees at Royal Holloway

Whatever undergraduate degree you choose at Royal Holloway, there is an annual fee. This fee varies depending on whether you’re a UK resident or live outside of the UK.

The tuition fee for students starting their degree in 2025/26 will be £9,535 for that year.
There is a different fee for a year spent abroad or working in industry.

Tuition fees are reviewed each year and Royal Holloway reserves the right to increase tuition fees annually for all students. The annual increase for continuing UK students will be determined by UK Government policy, capped to a maximum of 5% (excludes some Foundation Year courses, see below). Please therefore be aware that tuition fees can rise during your degree.

For students starting a Foundation Year course in 2025/26, a lower fee for the Foundation Year element of the course may apply. Once you move into Year 1 of your main degree, you will be charged the same fee as other undergraduate students studying that degree in that year. Find specific fee details for your course by searching on course finder.

For EU students starting their course with us in 2025/26, the international fee applies. See fee details by searching for your course on  course finder.

Tuition fees are reviewed each year and Royal Holloway reserves the right to increase tuition fees annually for all students. The annual increase for continuing EU and International students starting their course in 2025/26 will be determined as part of our annual review, and will be based on the UK’s Retail Price Index (RPI), capped to a maximum of 5%. Please therefore be aware that tuition fees can rise during your degree.

Your tuition fee will be for the year of entry, not for the year in which the application was made.

You can fund your tuition fee in a number of ways, including student loans and paying them yourself.

The UK Government sets guidelines on who is eligible for Home (UK) fee status.

Read guidance on who qualifies

Please note that holding a UK passport does not automatically qualify you to be eligible for Home fees. You also need to meet residency requirements.

When you apply to Royal Holloway a provisional decision is made on your fee status.

You can check this on Royal Holloway Direct, once an offer is made.
