Fred Piper Annual Information Security Lecture

Siân John MBE

This lecture explores the real-world implications of AI for information and cyber security—beyond the hype and into the grounded realities of how it's reshaping our work, education, and societal expectation. Drawing on over 25 years of experience working with cybersecurity and technology, Siân John uses real-world examples to illustrate how AI is redefining information and cyber security and what that this means for day to day cyber and information security operations.

Professor Fred Piper founded our Information Security Group, and his work has shaped our thinking about how protect and manage information. Fred played an instrumental role in making information security both publicly accessible and a fully-fledged academic subject.

Admission is free but booking is essential.
